There is a trend to fold your paper, for directional flow. All the extracts are directed to one side of the press plate and then cascade water fall flow. This is only necessary if you are pressing hash or dry-sift, on a press that can not flow off both sides. For best practice, the shortest route to get off the heated plate advantageous.
